This is a letter written by Kujô (Fujiwara) Yoshitsune (1169-1206) to his father, Kujô Kanezane (1148-1207). It refers to a celebration to be held the following day in honor of the 90th birthday of the renowned poet Fujiwara Shunzei (Toshinari; 1114-1204). In the letter, Yoshitsune enquires about how the poem papers should be inscribed. The final five lines are Kanezane's reply, recording his opinion that in the case of one who, like Shunzei, has already entered holy orders, the heading for his title should be Priest of the Third Rank, Sha'a.
