This mask of the deity Ebisu is worn in plays on celebratory themes. Other [kyōgen] masks of deities include Daikoku and Fuku no Kami. The masks for Ebisu and Fuku no Kami are likely derived from an earlier mask called Enmei Kaja. This particular mask is known to have been used by the Ōkura [kyōgen] school affiliated with the Konparu troupe.
